In its fourth season, FashionTech Berlin has an expert panel which will discuss how technology is influencing the way fashion is designed, produced, distributed, marketed and sold. Luis Manent, CEO & Co-founder of Wide Eyes Technologies on one of the hot topics of this edition: Fashion Visual Search.
Lack of time and inefficiency of conventional search engines are some of the challenges faced by retailers and especially by fashion eCommerce. The figures below speak for themselves:
- 44% of online purchases begin with using a search engine.
- 90% of smartphone users use in-store devices.
- 80% of semantic searches are unsuccessful.
- 52% of the purchases are closed in the first 15 minutes.
How can the search process be optimized?
How can street style be connected with an online catalog?
Searching by image is the solution.
Under the title of “The evolution of search: from semantic to visual search” (June 29, 14: 20h), Luis Manent will invite us to explore how image recognition technology can improve customer experience, engagement and sales.
